Wendy Ward

Wendy Ward is a Ph.D. candidate at Sheffield Hallam University investigating longevity in fashion and people’s relationships with their clothes. Prior to her Ph.D. she taught adults to sew and wrote five best-selling sewing books. Wendy has long had an interest in sustainability within fashion and worked at both extremes of the fashion industry: as a designer in fast fashion and for a small sustainable brand, before exploring novel methods for recycling textiles during her MA at the University of Brighton. Wendy’s love of making came from her dad and a pair of his gloves helped to inspire her research.
