William M Dabback

Dr. William M. Dabback is Assistant Professor of Music Education at James Madison University in Virginia where he teaches courses in instrumental methods, instrument pedagogy and conducting. He received his MM and Ph.D. from the Eastman School of Music. Prior to commencing his doctoral work, he served twelve years as the Towanda High School band director in Pennsylvania. His research interests include the relationships between sociological interactions,
learning and identity; musical improvisation; teacher preparation; and instrumental pedagogy.
