How to subscribe

Due to distruption with our distributor Turpin, to subscribe to our journals or collections please contact us at Please note that print orders are currently suspended. To register interest in print subscriptions please email us and we will advise when print becomes available. 

From 8 November our customers seeking one or two year subscriptions to individual journals will be able to do so on Intellect Discover platform. Please email us to enquire about Subject, Full and Archive Collections.

Journals subscriptions are available to institutions as Print and Online or Online only. Individual subscriptions and single issues are online only. Single article PDFs can be purchased from Intellect Discover. Discount codes

Personal subscribers can enter their discount code on Intellect Discover when ordering online or quote the code if ordering by phone/e-mail. Institutions ordering discounted tailored collections, or titles using a discount code, should contact us directly with their code. You can also ask your subscription agent to quote a code when ordering. 


Institutions subscribing to seven or more journals are eligible for a discounted Tailored Collection. There are great savings available if you subscribe to a Full Journals or Subject Collection. Collections also provide back-volume access for as long as the current subscription year is maintained. Journal subscription policy

Orders are processed once payment is received. Print copies will not be sent, nor will online access be granted, until payment has been received. Please pay in UK currency if ordering from within the UK, EU or Rest of World (ROW), and in US currency if ordering from within the US, Canada or Rest of Americas (ROA). Subscriptions are on a full volume (calendar year) basis. Subscriptions provide access to the year/volume purchased only. Back-volume access is not included unless purchased separately or included as part of a Tailored, Subject Area or Full Journals Collection. For further information on collections please see our Collections page. Online access to purchased volumes is perpetual. Issues will be sent/access granted when the first issue of the subscribed volume is published, with later issues in the volume sent as and when published. No cancellations will be accepted. No refunds or returns, unless under exceptional circumstances, will be granted. Subscriptions, including two-year subscriptions, cannot be cancelled part way through the subscription term. Please allow four to eight weeks for receipt of printed copies. Claims of non-delivery require proof of payment. Claims for missing copies must be submitted within six months of the publication date or date of ordering. For further information on our claims policy, please see below. In the absence of a separate licence agreement, all Intellect journal sales follow the SERU guidelines, as published on the NISO SERU website

Free online access for developing countries

Intellect invites institutions from eligible developing countries to claim free online access to our Full Journals Collection through our partners Research4Life. Please go to the Research4Life site to view the eligibility criteria and find out how to register. 

Claims Policy

Claims for 2022 and older volumes (print) - deadline for receipt of claims 30 September 2023

We will fulfil print claims for the following, provided we receive them by 30 Sept 2023:

- All claims for 2022 volumes (please check on that the issue in question has been published)

- Claims for older volumes/issues if they were either ordered after 1 January 2022, or published after 1 January 2022 

- Claims for 2021 and older volumes ordered or published before 1 January 2022 fall outside of our claims period and unfortunately we will not be able to fulfil these unless this is part of an active claim that you have already submitted to us and we have accepted, or you have already claimed via Turpin during 2022, and your claim was accepted (please send email proof of correspondence with Turpin). Older claims submitted to Turpin before 1 January 2022 that were not fulfilled will be deemed to have expired and will not be fulfilled, unless you are able to send email proof that you have a) followed up your claim within six months of the date of your most recent claim AND b) submitted your most recent claim to Turpin or us after 1 January 2022.

- After 30 September 2023, claims will only be fulfilled if they fill the criteria below, which forms our new claims policy moving forward

New claims policy for all new claims received after 30 September 2023

Claims for print issues will be accepted if received within six months of the following (whichever is latest):

- Claims received within six months of the order date (for back issues/volumes)

- Claims received within six months of the publication date of the issue being claimed

- Claims received within six months after the end of the subscription year claimed for, ie for 2023 volumes, claims will be fulfilled if received by 30 June 2024 OR six months after the publication date of the issue or the date of the order if these are later than 30 June 2024

- Please note that claims for non-delivery will be valid for six months after the date of receipt, so if you do not receive a response to your initial claim, or do not receive your copies, we may not have received your email, so please ensure that you re-claim within six months to avoid expiry of your claim

-Any claims for issues that do not fall into these criteria will outside our claims period and we will not unfortunately be able to fulfil these. The above applies to print claims only; claims for online access for volumes purchased will be fulfilled regardless of date of publication or order date, provided we have proof of your order.

Please note, if the issue you are claiming for has only recently been published (ie within the past month) please allow up to 10-12 weeks for delivery before chasing.
