Adam L. Winkel
Adam L. Winkel is associate professor of Spanish at High Point University. He holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MA, an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. His research focuses on the Franco regime’s manipulation and control of space during the 1940s and 1950s as represented in official discourse, narrative, film, theatre and sport. He has published articles on Spanish novel and theatre in Hispanic Studies Review, Bulletin of Spanish Studies and Symposium: A Quarterly Journal in Modern Literatures, and on Spanish football in The International Journal of the History of Sport. His teaching and research interests include post-civil war Spanish literature and cultural studies, sport and culture, and urban theory and cultural practices.
