Adrian Renzo

Adrian Renzo is lecturer in the Department of Media, Communications, Creative Arts, Language and Literature at Macquarie University. His background is in popular music studies and musicology, and his research explores how sample-based music is assembled; how popular music fans negotiate hierarchies of taste and how electronic dance music intersects with Top 40 pop. In addition, he has co-authored work on popular music technologies and has researched the impact of automated audio mastering systems on the work of mastering engineers. His work has appeared in journals such as Musicology Australia, Popular Music and Society and the International Review of the Aesthetics and Sociology of Music.
