Alberto Medina
Alberto Medina is Associate Professor in the Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures at Columbia University. His teaching and research focus on the relationship between political subjectivity and cultural production in early modern and contemporary Spain. He is the author of Exorcismos de la memoria: políticas y poéticas de la melancolía en la España de la transición (2001) and Espejo de sombras: sujeto y multitud en la España del siglo XVIII (2009). He coordinated the dossier ‘La península híbrida’ for the Arizona Journal of Cultural Studies and has published numerous articles in journals such as Hispania, Revista Iberoamericana, Revista de estudios Hispánicos, Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispánicos and Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, among many others.
