Alberto Pena-Rodríguez
Alberto Pena-Rodríguez is an associate professor of media studies at the University of Vigo. Among other academic institutions, he has been FLAD/Brown Michael Teague visiting professor at Brown University and endowed chair professor at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, as well as visiting scholar at Harvard University and University of California Berkeley. Former president of the Historians Association of Communication (AsHisCom), currently is the director of the History Section of the Spanish Association of Communication Research (AE-IC). His main lines of research deal with the history of media, with special emphasis in the lusophone world. One of his last books is News on the American Dream: A History of the Portuguese Press in the United States (University of Massachusetts Press, 2020). Also, he has published his works in Media History, Journal of Iberian and Latin American Research and Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies.
