Aleksandra Kuzior

Aleksandra Kuzior is an associate professor in the humanities in the field of ethics and applied ethics, specialist in the philosophy of technology and social sciences. She completed postgraduate studies in ‘Management in education’ and ‘Coach – training educator’. Since 2001, she has worked at the Silesian University of Technology and is currently a Head of the Department of Applied Social Sciences, the president of Silesian Centre for Business Ethics and Sustainable Development and the vice president of Polish Association of Technology Assessment. Scientifically, she is concerned with quality of life, education for sustainable development, applied ethics and technology assessment. Kuzior cooperates with the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). She is the editor and author of over 80 scientific articles and books (among others ‘Axiology of sustainable development’, ‘The everyday ethics’, in: ‘Socio-ethical aspects of human functioning in the modern world’, ‘The ICT as a tool for sustainable development’, in: A. Kuzior [ed.], ‘Contemporary developmental challenges’). Kuzior has participated in six projects financed from EU fund and directed five research projects and one educational project on sustainable development. She has received six awards from the Silesian University of Technology’s Chancellor for scientific and organizational activity and National Education Committee Medal for outstanding contribution to education.
