Alena Strohmaier
Dr. Alena Strohmaier is project leader of the research project ‘Cinematic appropriation processes of protest videos from the Middle East and North Africe since 2009’ (funded by the German Federal Ministry, 2019-2023) at the Department of Media Studies and the Center for Near and Middle Eastern Studies at Philipps-Universität Marburg. She did her Ph.D. on films of the Iranian diaspora and was scientific coordinator of the research network ‘Re-Configurations: History, Remembrance and Transformation Processes in the Middle East and North Africa’ (Center for Near and Middle Eastern Studies, Philipps-Universität Marburg).
