Alessandro Giammei
Alessandro Giammei is an assistant professor and director of graduate studies in the Department of Italian Studies at Yale University. Working between Renaissance and modern studies, he wrote the monographs Nell’officina del nonsense di Toti Scialoja (edizioni del verri, 2014) and Ariosto in the Machine Age (Toronto University Press, 2024) which was awarded the AAIS Book Prize. He co-edited Heretical Aesthetics: Pasolini on Painting with Ara Merjian (Verso, 2023) and Giulia Niccolai with Marco Belpoliti and Nunzia Palmieri (Edizioni Quodlibet, 2023). He translated Lytton Strachey and Arthur Conan Doyle into Italian and authored the trade books Una serie ininterrotta di gesti riusciti (Marsilio, 2018), Cose da maschi (Einaudi, 2023) and Gioventù degli antenati: Il Rinascimento è uno zombie (Einaudi, 2024).
