Alexander Brey
Alexander Brey, Ph.D., Bryn Mawr College, is an assistant professor of Islamic art and architecture at Wellesley College in the United States. His research focuses on early Islamic visual culture, landscape studies, and digital methods for art history. His ‘Fragmentation and Reassembly: Decoration, Technique, and Meaning at an Early Islamic Platform’ was published in the September 2021 issue of The Art Bulletin. He is currently completing a book on the circulation and adaptation of hunting imagery throughout the Umayyad caliphate.
