Alexander Cohen

Alexander Cohen is an interdisciplinary artist, electronic instrument builder and Ph.D. student in electronic arts at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His scholarly and artistic output currently seeks to unpack the implications of apocalyptic artificial intelligence (AI) narratives on the emerging fields of AI safety and AI ethics and raise awareness around data collection practices for large-scale AI models through performance and installation. In his previous role as technical director of the School of Music at the Georgia Institute of Technology, he provided technical support for labs researching machine learning and robotics for music and taught courses on audio technology and electronic musical instrument design.
