Alexander Kozin

Alexander Kozin (Ph.D. in Speech Communication, SIUC, 2002) is VisitingResearch Fellow at the Centre for Literature and Philosophy, University ofSussex. Previously, he participated in a seven-year post-doctoral internationalresearch project with FU Berlin, ‘The microsociology of criminaldefense proceedings: A comparative study’. His areas of specializationinclude phenomenology, ethnography, semiotics and discourse analysis. Hismost recent areas of interest have been law, translation and xenology. Hehas published in Law and Social Inquiry, Semiotica, Text and Talk, Janus Head,Discourse Studies, International Journal for the Semiotics of Law, Law and Critique,Across Languages and Cultures and other academic journals. Currently, he isworking on a book project, On the Exceptional Status of Alien Modalities in theAnglo-Saxon Criminal Law.
