Alexis Romano

Alexis Romano is a writer, educator and curator whose work explores twentieth-century fashion and visual culture, women’s history and everyday subjective aspects of dress. She teaches fashion studies and research methods at Parsons, the New School for Design and received a Ph.D. from the Courtauld Institute of Art. Alexis is the author of Prêt-à-Porter, Paris and Women: A Cultural Study of French Readymade Fashion, 1945–68 (Bloomsbury, 2022). She was the 2020–21 curatorial fellow at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is co-founder of the Fashion Research Network.
