Alicia Gil-Torres
Alicia Gil-Torres is associate professor in journalism at the University of Valladolid. She has a degree in advertising and public relations (specializing in communication management), a degree in journalism, a master in political consulting and a Ph.D. in journalism. She is also part of the research group New Trends in Communication in the University of Valladolid (NUTECO). At the present time she is an active member of the research group ‘Politainment in the environment of post-truth: New narratives, clickbait and gamification’, in the University of Valladolid. Her area of expertise is political and electoral communication and her research focuses are election campaigns, political marketing and grassroots. She also worked as a freelance consultant for almost a decade, and advised and offered training in communication to various organizations and politicians. Her last non-academic job was as chief of staff in España Global, a Secretary of State (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation).
