Aliyah Baerg is a Master of Architecture Student, with B.EnvD in Architecture, studying at the University of Manitoba. Originating from the rural farmland of Glenlea, Manitoba, her master’s work critiques the dominant cultures of control over the landscape. Aliyah’s current thesis work focuses on the relationship between the practice of building and architecture, developing alternative responses which prioritize sustainable reuse and user interaction. Aliyah enjoys printmaking, sewing, gardening, camping, and spending time outdoors.
