Amanda Kennell

Amanda Kennell is a clinical assistant professor of Japanese studies at the University at Buffalo, New York. She is currently writing a book, Alice in Evasion: Adaptation/Carroll/Japan, about Japanese adaptations of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland novels. Her work has been published by the British Museum, The Journal of Popular Culture and Film Criticism. She has held fellowships from the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. She received a Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of Southern California and an MA from the University of Pennsylvania.
