Amândio Reis

Amândio Reis is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Comparative Studies, University of Lisbon School of Arts and Humanities and an invited assistant professor at NOVA University of Lisbon School of Social and Human Sciences. He is editor-in-chief of Compendium: Journal of Comparative Studies. In 2022, he published the book Short Stories, Knowledge and the Supernatural: Machado de Assis, Henry James and Guy de Maupassant (Palgrave Macmillan). His current research is situated at the intersection of narrative studies and comparative literature, focusing mostly on the short story in connection with other genres of short-form literature and other art forms, from the fin de siècle to the modernist period.
