Amonia L. Tolofari
Amonia Tolofari, MS is a Ph.D. candidate and graduate teaching assistant in the School of Media and Communication at Bowling Green State University. She is an advocate for women survivors of domestic violence. As a volunteer with Women in Nigeria, a non-governmental agency advocating for survivors of gender-based violence GBV), and through her own initiatives, she organized seminars and workshops that have provided information and resources for women in the southern region of Nigeria. Since receiving her master’s degree in organizational communication from Murray State University, she has researched family communication patterns and attachment styles for foster parents, family privacy boundaries within social media sites, and volunteered as an advocate for Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), a non-profit organization that caters to foster children in the United States. Her doctoral dissertation addresses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on GBV in Nigeria.
