Anastasia G. Stamou

Anastasia G. Stamou is professor of applied linguistics-sociolinguistics-discourse analysis in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her research focuses on the analysis of the role of language in the representation of social reality in public discourse (media, popular culture, education), in the discursive construction of identities (national/ethnic, gender, youth) and in the educational implications of the abovementioned research for the development of critical literacies. Her research has appeared in numerous peer-reviewed journals. She is the guest editor of a Special Issue of Discourse, Context and Media on the sociolinguistics of fiction.
