Andrea Mason
Andrea Mason is a London-based writer and artist, a lecturer in contextual and theoretical studies at London College of Communication (LCC), University of the Arts London (UAL), and runs creative writing enterprise Literary Kitchen. Her fiction pamphlet Waste Extractions (2022), supported by an Arts Council Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) award, is published by Broken Sleep Books. She is a graduate of the University of East Anglia (UEA) Creative Writing MA and was awarded her Creative Writing Ph.D. at Goldsmiths in 2020. She is runner up in the Desperate Literature Short Fiction Prize, 2023, won the Aleph Writing Prize, 2020, was shortlisted for the Manchester Fiction Prize, 2020 and was shortlisted for the inaugural Fitzcarraldo Editions Novel Prize, 2018. Forthcoming publication includes the Desperate Literature Eleven Stories (2023) anthology. Previous online and journal publications include 3: AM Magazine, UEA New Writing, Failed States, Tar Press, Happy Hypocrite and Sublunary Editions. Her text/art piece Service Providers was recently included in the group exhibition The Wastemakers on Cornucopia Street, at Newhaven Art Projects, curated by Ian Dawson.
