Andreas Mårdh

Andreas Mårdh, Ph.D., is a post-doctoral fellow of history education at Umeå University. His main research interests are in the political and ideological dimensions of teaching and learning history. As such, he has previously written about the conflicts and controversies that competing views on the past give rise to in classroom settings and public debate. Currently, he is conducting theoretical and empirical research that aims to develop teaching principles grounded in historiography from below, i.e. ‘People’s History’. He is a member of the research group History and Education at Umeå University and the research environment Environmental and Sustainability Education Research Group Örebro (ESERGO) at Örebro University.
