Andres Samper

Andrés Samper studied classical guitar at the University of Quebec. He holds a master’s degree in education from Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá) and a doctoral degree in music education from University College London under the guidance of Professor Lucy Green. He has worked as a cultural journalist and teacher at Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Central, Universidad del Rosario, Universidad del Valle and Conservatorio del Tolima. He has been an advisor for projects and a workshop facilitator for the music and community art programmes of Colombia’s Ministry of Culture. Currently, he is a member of the Colombian chapter of Foro Latinoamericano de Educación Musical (FLADEM) and is part of Sonido Colectivo, an association dedicated to studying the role of music as a social fabric. His research interests focus on instrumental didactics, informal music learning, traditional music, community art and somatics.
