Andrew Kötting

Andrew Kötting is an artist, filmmaker, writer and professor of time based media at the University for the Creative Arts. In addition to numerous experimental films, performances and installations, he became celebrated in 1996 for his first feature film Gallivant. His body of work is multifarious in its outcomes, moving from live-art inflected, often absurdist pieces, through to documentaries, LPs, CDs, collage, paintings, drawings and books. Autobiography, psychogeography, hauntology and philosophy are the motors that drive his work. He seems to be interested in teasing out the melancholy at the heart of contemporary British culture and collaborates with friends and family on the projects which have included his grandparents, his dead father, his dead great grandfather and dead great grandmother and in particular his muse and daughter, Eden Kötting.
