Andrew McIntyre
Andrew McIntyre is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam’s Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC). In 2023, he obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow with a thesis focusing on AI-generated art, media and communications, as well as the philosophy of Vilém Flusser. Currently, his research investigates the sociopolitical challenges and opportunities posed by generative AI as part of the Horizon Europe project SOLARIS (Strengthening Democratic Engagement through Value-Based Generative Adversarial Networks). His work has been featured in the edited collection Materializing Digital Futures: Touch, Movement, Sound and Vision (Bloomsbury, 2022) and the forthcoming The Encyclopaedia of Animation Studies: Volume 4 (Bloomsbury).
