Angela Bianca Saponari

Angela Bianca Saponari is a research fellow at the University of Bari ‘Aldo Moro’. Her research focuses on the cultural history of Italian cinema and on the processes of the audio-visual industry: in particular, her interests include Italian cinema of the 1930s, the relationship between cinema and its paratexts and festival studies. She is the author of the volumes Il cinema di Leonardo Sciascia: Luci e immagini di una vita (Progedit, 2010), Il corpo esiliato: Cinema italiano della migrazione (Progedit, 2012) and Il desiderio del cinema: Ferdinando Maria Poggioli (Mimesis, 2017). She is member of the editorial board of the journal Cinergie: Il cinema e le altre arti and is a member of the editorial staff of Meltemi’s Cinema, Media and Cultural Studies series. Furthermore, she collaborates on projects of the Apulia Film Commission as coordinator of the ‘Study and Research Center’ and general coordinator of the Bari International Film Festival.
