Ángela Martínez Fernández

Ángela Martínez Fernández received her Ph.D. in Spanish literature from the Universitat de València for her dissertation entitled ‘Si nos permiten hablar: Repensando la narrative contemporánea desde la condición de clase’ (‘If they allow us to speak: Rethinking the contemporary narrative from the perspective of class’) (2020). As part of a predoctoral research scholarship, Dr Martínez Fernández was a member of research groups at the same university from 2015 to 2019, and participated in the research projects ‘Artelope II: Base de Datos y Argumento del teatro de Lope de Vega’ and ‘Max Aub y las confrontaciones de la memoria histórica’. She has published academic articles on contemporary Spanish prose, poetry and theatre, historical memory, women’s writing during the Republican period and working-class narratives in both national and international journals and has contributed to various monographs and book chapters. She was a member of the editorial team of the journal Kamchatka: Revista de análisis cultural until 2019 and later of Pasavento: Revista de Estudios Hispánicos. Currently she is a postdoctoral fellow at the Universidad de Alcalá.
