Angela Porcarelli
Angela Porcarelli is a senior lecturer in the Department of French and Italian at Emory University. Her research interests include Italian film studies, theories and literary expressions of comedy – primarily in the genre of the beffa in Medieval and Renaissance Italy – and the concept of realism and its evolution over time both in literature and cinema. She has presented her research at several national and international conferences including on the theme of New Realism and meta-representation in the cinema of Pier Paolo Pasolini, Marco Tullio Giordana and Paolo Sorrentino. On the same theme she has written chapters in the edited volumes Pier Paolo Pasolini: In Living Memory (ed. M. Bergonzoni and B. Lawton) (New Academia Publishing, 2008) and Il cinema di Marco Tullio Giordana: Interventi critici (ed. F. Colleoni, E. Dalla Torre and I. Lanslots) (Vecchiarelli, 2014).
