Ann Bruce

Ann Bruce is senior lecturer in innovation in sustainable food systems at the University of Edinburgh. She has an interdisciplinary background combining natural and social sciences, with postgraduate degrees in both. She has worked in both industry and academia and her research has focused on various aspects of innovation and livestock. She is currently working on understanding the development of rapid veterinary diagnostics to reduce antimicrobial resistance, the resilience of UK upland sheep and beef production, and understanding crofting practices in the maintenance of biodiverse plant communities. She is also currently developing a public engagement tool on cattle breeding for an EC Horizon 2020 project (BovReg).
