Anna Lucia Natale

Anna Lucia Natale is an associate professor in the Department of Communication and Social Research at the Sapienza University of Rome. She is co-head of the Research Unit GeMMA (Gender and Media Matters) (Sapienza, 2010–present) and a member of the Observatory on Italian TV Drama (1989–present). Her main research interests lie in the social history of radio and in media representations, particularly in the field of TV drama. Among her publications are: Gli anni della radio (Liguori, 1990); Immagini di realtà (with G. Gili) (FrancoAngeli, 1995); and Reinventare la tradizione (Mediascape, 2004). She has also contributed chapters to the following volumes: Il prisma dei generi, M. Buonanno (ed.) (FrancoAngeli, 2014); La musica alla radio: 1924–1954, A. I. De Benedictis (ed.) (Bulzoni, 2015); Italian Pop Culture, F. Corsini (ed.) (Viella, 2018); and Genere e media: non solo immagini, M. Buonanno and F. Faccioli (eds) (FrancoAngeli, 2020).
