Anne Geniets

Dr. Anne Geniets co-convenes the Media Research Seminar Series at RISJ. She is currently working at the Oxford Internet Institute. Her work focuses on young people's lapsed internet use in the UK. Prior to that Anne was a post-doctoral research fellow at RISJ working on the Carnegie/BBC World Service/France 24 funded Project, International News in Africa, India and Pakistan: provision, consumption and trust in a rapidly changing broadcasting environmentAnne holds an MA in Developmental Psychology and Psychology of Developmental Disorders, with minors in Media Psychology and Psychopathology (University of Bern, Switzerland), and an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology (Oxon). She completed her DPhil at the University of Oxford, investigating the political online participation of young women in Britain. Her research interests focus on media provision and (non)usage in developing countries as well as in hostile communications infrastructure environments.
