Ariela Freedman

Ariela Freedman is a professor at the Liberal Arts College, Concordia University, Montreal. She is the author of Death, Men and Modernism (Routledge, 2003) and numerous articles and chapters in journals and books, including Modernism/modernity, Journal of Modern Literature, James Joyce Quarterly, Partial Answers and Literature Compass. She is also the author of three novels, Arabic for Beginners (LLP, 2017), A Joy to be Hidden (LLP, 2019) and Léa (LLP, 2022) from Linda Leith Publishing. Her research interests include modernism, trauma, First World War narrative, the short story, the literature of migration, the representation of pain and comics and graphic narrative.
