Astha Singh
Astha Singh has pursued graduate and postgraduate studies at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India. She is a research scholar in the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, BHU, Varanasi, under the supervision of Professor M. S. Pandey. Her research topic is ‘Impaired body and social world: Exploring the experience of disablement in selected literary texts’. Presently, she is an assistant professor of English at Snatkottar Mahavidyalaya, PG College, Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, India. She is a person with locomotor disability and has been awarded a Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities (2017–18). Her purpose in life is to deconstruct the negative perceptions surrounding disability and construct an assertive image of disability.
