Aténé Mendelyté
Atėnė Mendelytė is an independent film scholar from Sweden. Her research largely focuses on interdisciplinarity within the humanities and the intersections among film, philosophy, television, literature, photography, theatre and music. She has published articles in Krisis: Journal for Contemporary Philosophy, Film-Philosophy, Short Film Studies, Acta Universitatis Sapientiae: Film and Media Studies, Criticism: A Quarterly for Literature and the Arts and Symbolism: An International Annual of Critical Aesthetics, among others. Mendelytė’s chapters on television series, film-philosophy, avant-garde film and countercultural music practices are included in a number of anthologies, the most recent being Thinking Reality and Time through Film (edited by Christine Reeh and José Manuel Martins, Newcastle upon Tyne: Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2017) and Mute Record – Artists, Business, History (edited by Zuleika Beaven, Marcus O’Dair and Richard Osborne, New York: Bloomsbury, 2018).
