Athina Markopoulou

Athina Markopoulou is a Ph.D. student at the Modern Greek Department of the University of Athens. Her thesis explores the relationship between Modern Greek literary writing and the book culture of the late nineteenth century. Results of her research so far have been published or are under publication in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes (Synthesis, Journal of Modern Greek Studies, Journal of Greek Media and Culture, ITEM and Hellenic Open University Editions). She has contributed to research projects in digital humanities (‘Distant reading for European literary history’, ‘Anavathmis’ and ‘EMAN’).
