Baidurya Chakrabarti

Baidurya Chakrabarti is currently an assistant professor at the Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication, Pune, a constituent of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University). He is also a research fellow at the National Film Archive of India’s Research Project on Indian Cinema for 2020. His doctoral dissertation, ‘Mapping the ideological terrain of contemporary Bollywood’, tried to provide a broad ideological reading of neoliberal transformations of Indian cinema. His other areas of interest include psychoanalysis, digital humanities, theories of modernity and Marxism. Currently, he is working on a project titled Decoding the Boi: Bengali Popular Cinema and the Evolution of a Genre.
