Barbara Kaynan
Barbara Kaynan, MA, RDT, LCAT-P, is a drama therapist for The Hebrew Home at Riverdale (HH) serving older adults with skilled nursing and memory care needs. Kaynan specializes in creating and directing therapeutic theatre across populations and systems. In addition to her role at The Hebrew Home, she serves as lead drama therapist and director for Witness Theater: an intergenerational therapeutic theatre program joining Holocaust survivors and adolescents, and as Adjunct Professor teaching drama therapy at Long Island University-C.W. Post. Previous positions include drama therapist for ENACT, Inc. working with adolescents in alternative learning centres, and creative arts therapist at Lenox Hill Hospital serving adults on the inpatient acute psychiatric unit. She is an alumnus of the NYU’s graduate program in Drama Therapy.
