Barbara Wallace Grossman
Barbara Wallace Grossman is professor of theatre at Tufts University. A theatre historian, voice specialist and director of plays and musicals, she is the author of the books Funny Woman: The Life and Times of Fanny Brice (1991) and A Spectacle of Suffering: Clara Morris on the American Stage (2009), as well as several book chapters on musical theatre topics. A presidential appointee to the National Council on the Arts (1994–99) and the United States Holocaust Memorial Council (2000–05), she has served as vice chair of the Massachusetts Cultural Council as a gubernatorial appointee since 2007.
