Bartosz Wójcik is a translator, literary critic and cultural manager; defended his doctoral dissertation in 2013 (external reviewers: Prof. Jerzy Jarniewicz and Prof. David Malcolm); attended academic conferences in Poland and abroad (Barbados, Czech Republic, England, Jamaica, Germany, Romania and Scotland); published scholarly papers on the works of, among others, Patience Agbabi, Jean Binta Breeze, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Kei Miller, Mutabaruka, Michael Smith and Derek Walcott; author of Afro-Caribbean Poetry in English: Cultural Traditions (Peter Lang, 2015); most recently published ‘“Your journey, even when bumpy,/will be sweet”: Jamaica in Kei Miller’s A Light Song of Light’ (Journal of West Indian Literature, 23:1&2, April–November 2015, pp. 73–88) and ‘Jamaican soundscapes in selected poems by Kei Miller: A prelude in seven notes’ (Sound Is/As Sense.
