Belén Puebla-Martínez

Belén Puebla-Martínez is a full professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC). She obtained her Ph.D. in communication sciences from URJC, and also master’s degree in communication and sociocultural issues and bachelor’s degrees in journalism and audio-visual communication from the same university. She is the principal investigator of the Research Group in Innovation, Education, and Communication (INECO) at Rey Juan Carlos University and also of the NODOS Teaching Innovation Group. She is the director of the scientific journal Index.comunicación, indexed in various evaluation systems and scientific databases, including Scopus (Q1 in Visual Arts and Performance Arts and Q2 in Communication), Emerging Sources Citation Index and the FECYT quality seal. She is specialized in the study of analytical research methods in social communication, innovative teaching methods, media literacy analysis, combating disinformation, Spanish television fiction and the history of media, particularly in the fields of press and television, among other research areas. Currently, she is also the principal investigator of the URJC team in the international project IBERIFIER Observatory, led by Ramón Salaverria (UNAV) and composed of a consortium of 25 institutions, funded by the European Commission.
