Ben Higham
Ben Higham is now a consultant specializing in strategic planning and organizational development in the voluntary, social enterprise and SME sectors. In 1985 Ben founded Community Music East Ltd. (CME), a community-based education organization, charity and social enterprise of which he was the Director until December 2009. During this period in addition to operational viability his main interests were in the development of ethical community music practice and the challenges of curriculum development and implementation. In addition to consulting, researching and training, Ben chairs the board of a regional social enterprise development agency, is a board member of an organization that supports the victims of rape and sexual abuse and is a member of the Jazz Services National Education Advisory Panel. He has presented papers on community music praxis at ISME and other academic conferences around the world. He is also a practising musician and composer.
