Boel Ulfsdotter
Dr Boel Ulfsdotter is reader in film and media studies in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Gothenburg University, Sweden. Her areas of research are rooted in narrative and aesthetic perspectives of female subjectivity related to dress and mise en scène in all aspects of visual culture, with a preference for documentary imagery, exhibition practice and television. Ulfsdotter’s recent publications include ‘Genius and taste: Sara Danius’ couture gowns as extended power-dressing’, International Journal of Fashion Studies (2021). Her forthcoming book (2022) is titled Documenting Fashion, co-edited with Elena Caoduro for Edinburgh University Press. Boel Ulfsdotter is a formally trained dressmaker and a freelancing fashion and visual arts critic.
