Boone J. Hopkins
Boone J. Hopkins is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Theater at the University of Kansas where he teaches acting, directing and popular culture courses. His research interests include: theories of acting and directing, theatre for social change and the intersections of theatre and cultural studies, with a particular emphasis in applied cultural anthropology. Boone has presented his research at the Mid-America Theater Conference and The Association for Theater in Higher Education. Boones forthcoming dissertation is an ethnographic account of rehearsal practices in major American regional theatre companies that examines the relationship between collaboration and power in creative spaces. Boone received his Master's of Fine Arts degree in Acting and Directing Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
