Brenda M. Boyle
Brenda Boyle is Professor of English and the director of the Writing Center at Denison University. She is a scholar of twentieth- and twenty-first century American literature, especially war narratives. She is the author of Masculinity in Vietnam War Narratives: A Critical Study of Fiction, Films and Nonfiction Writing (2009), co-author of Masculinity and Monstrosity in Contemporary Hollywood Films (2013) and editor or co-editor of two essay collections: The Vietnam War (2014) and Looking Back on the Vietnam War: Twenty-First Century Perspectives (2016). Boyle is currently working on a monograph entitled American War Stories, which re-conceptualizes ‘war story’ to demonstrate the many ways by which militarism is embedded in American culture.
