Brenna A. Barks

Brenna A. Barks is an independent dress historian and material culturist who focuses primarily on Scotland, the British Empire and the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, though she has been known to moonlight in contemporary fashion especially when Alexander McQueen is mentioned. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh in 2010 and since then has worked for the FIDM Museum, contributed to Volume 3 of the Fashion from Head to Toe encyclopaedia, been published in several Interweave Press knitting magazines, and was the managing editor for Worn Through from 2011 until the blog’s end in 2017.
