Bret Vukoder

Bret Vukoder, Ph.D., is an adjunct assistant professor with Temple University’s Film and Media Arts programme. With Dr Hadi Gharabaghi, he recently co-edited a Special Issue, ‘Motion Picture Legacies of the USIA’ (2022), in the Journal of e-Media Studies. He is the co-head of the USIA and NARA-WWI projects within Dartmouth College’s Media Ecology Project and was a senior consultant on a recent NEH Collaborative Research Grant, ‘USIA Moving Images through International Lenses’ (2023). His forthcoming publications engage USIA and First World War film archives to address how systems of policy, culture and bureaucracy inform motion picture aesthetics, circulation and reception. Vukoder received his Ph.D. in literary and cultural studies from Carnegie Mellon University in 2020.
