Dr Brian McIlroy is Professor of Film Studies at the University of British Columbia. He is the author of Shooting to Kill: Filmmaking and the 'Troubles' in Northern Ireland (Richmond, BC: Steveston Press, 2001) and the editor of Genre and Cinema: Ireland and Transnationalism (London and New York: Routledge, 2007).
