Brian Zuccala

Brian Zuccala (Ph.D. Monash) is a postdoctoral research fellow (Italian) at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa). Portions of his recent work have appeared or are in press, as essays, critical introductions, interviews, translations and reviews, in Italian Studies in Southern Africa (ISSA); Spunti e Ricerche; Italica; LEA – Lingue e Letterature D’Oriente e Occidente; Journal of Italian Cinema and Media Studies; Intralinea and the Journal of Italian Translation. He co-edited a collection of essays on Pascoli, Il seme di Urbino (Raffaelli, 2013), the 2018 ISSA special issue in two volumes ‘Postcolonialismi italiani ieri e oggi’ (‘Italian Postcolonialisms: Past and Present’) with Anita Virga, and a forthcoming volume of collected essays on Capuana – Experimental Fiction and Cultural Mediation in Post-Unification Italy: The case of Luigi Capuana – with Annamaria Pagliaro. A translated volume of George Gissing’s Racconti Americani, with Luigi Gussago and John Gatt-Rutter, is under contract with Nova Delphi (Rome).
