Calvin L. Troup

Calvin L. Troup, editor-elect of Explorations in Media Ecology, earned his Ph.D. in Speech Communication from the Pennsylvania State University. He taught for many years at Duquesne University and directed that institution’s nationally ranked Rhetoric Ph.D. programme before being selected as the President of Geneva College in 2016, where he continues to serve as Professor of Communication as well. Troup’s scholarly interests are the rhetoric and philosophy of St. Augustine and the rhetoric of technology. His books include Temporality, Eternity, and Wisdom: The Rhetoric of Augustine’s Confessions and Augustine for the Philosophers: The Rhetor of Hippo, the Confessions, and the Continentals. Troup has edited the Journal of Communication & Religion and is a past president of the Religious Communication Association.
