Carla Manfredi

Carla Manfredi is an instructor in the Department of English at The University of Winnipeg. She received her Ph.D. in English literature at Queen’s University (Canada) in 2014. Her work on Robert Louis Stevenson, photography and the history of colonialism in the Pacific Islands has appeared in Oceania and the Victorian Imagination, The Journal of Stevenson Studies, Victorian Review and Pacific Studies. She is currently completing a monograph that offers a sustained and detailed account of Stevenson’s photograph collection, produced during the author’s Pacific travels in the final decades of the nineteenth century. Manfredi has held fellowships at the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library (Yale University), the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (University of Edinburgh) and the Huntington Library.
